When "Daas Torah" is wrong or is really Daas Baalei Batim
Below is the official "Daas Torah" of Leon Goldenberg, the Flatbush Jewish Journal, and the Flatbush Jewish Community Coalition as to who to vote for in the current New York State elections. Rather than focus on the validity of this claim of "Daas Torah" we will recount a relatively unknown story from Rabbi Yaakov Kamenetzky from many years ago. This took place during the times when there was a dispute among rabbinic leaders as to how to approach the Soviet persecution of Jewish Refusniks and Jews who wanted to leave the Communist Workers Paradise. There was one school of thought that counseled quiet behind the scenes diplomacy. There was another school of thought that counseled open public protest and embarrassing the Soviets for human rights violations. Rabbi Yaakov Kamenetzky once remarked on this controversy and compared it to the biblical story of Shimon, Levi, and Shechem. In that episode, Yaakov Avinu the patriarch Jacob, harshly criticized Shimon and Levi for their actions. They responded to Jacob "Will our sister be likened to a Harlot"? The Torah does not record a response from Jacob nor does it record a retraction. Said Rabbi Yaakov Kamenetzky, Sometimes the elders have to state their opinion, but the youth should not listen to them. Essentially, Shimon and Levi were more correct than Jacob in their Daas Torah than was Jacob the patriarch in his Daas Torah.
With that said we have the Daas Torah of Rabbi Avigdor Miller of blessed memory, and plain common sense and Seichel Hayashar to see that the political advice of Mr. Goldenberg and company is immoral and wrong. Mr Goldenberg should follow his own advice from the June 23rd 2019 edition of Ami Magazine (pictured below) and take his masks, shots, and politician friends, and leave New York. Take them all away to California and lock them all down there.
No Self Respecting Orthodox Jew should vote for anyone associated with the Democrat party which has become a Fascist wing of the World Economic Forum. Tish James is currently appealing the ruling against the Hochul Quarantine Concentration camps. James has fought for the government on behalf of every tyrannical lockdown restriction and removal of civil rights for regular citizens. All the while she has championed the lawlessness and disorder that now has turned New York City into a crime infested East coast version of San Fransisco with violent mental patients and drug addicts running amok committing murder and mayhem. She aided and abetted the murder of all the people killed by the hospital system with Remdesivir and ventilators. She never did anything to stop Cuomo from restricting Hydroxychloriquine and Ivermectin. she allowed Cuomo and the Hospitals to get away with murder.
The Democrats should be punished for what they did with the Covid tyrrany. At the voting booth and in courts of law.
